"Touching Lives... Healing Hearts... Giving Hope."

Utah Share is a volunteer effort of concerned parents and healthcare professionals working together to help families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. Utah Share is affiliated with National Share, Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support Inc., and is a non-profit, non-denominational organization. Many parents find that it helps to talk with another parent who has experienced the loss of a baby, someone who can listen, understand, and identify with some of their feelings. Anyone who has lost a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or newborn death is welcome to call Utah Share and/or attend support group meetings. Just knowing that your experience is valid and that you are not alone can be very beneficial in working through your grief. You will never forget your baby, but you will be able to go on with life and look to the future.

  • Share has been helping families for over 25 years
  • Each year in the United States, 900,000 early pregnancy losses occur

The mission of Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support, Inc. is to serve those whose lives are touched by the tragic death of a baby through pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or in the first few months of life.

The primary purpose is to provide support toward positive resolution of grief experienced at the time of, or following the death of a baby. This support encompasses emotional, physical, spiritual, and social healing, as well as sustaining the family unit.

The secondary purpose of Share is to provide information, education, and resources on the needs and rights of bereaved parents and siblings. The objective is to aid those in the community, including family, friends, employers, members of the congregation, caregivers, and others in their supportive role.

Share began in the fall of 1977, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Illinois. Share's existence came about through the insistent urging of one bereaved parent, and the work of several hospital staffers. Within four months, the first support group met. Since that time, Share has become international, with over 105 chapters. The Utah Share chapter, established in 1999, currently serves much of Northern Utah.
